     Stephen Lengel was born in 1750 in Tulpehocken Township, Berks Co, PA.1
     Stephen Lengel married Susanna Schmidt, daughter of Johann Adam Schmidt, on Jan 16, 1781 in Christ Lutheran Church, Stouchburg, PA.1,4,5,6
     In Paul Lengel's will, Stephen and Jacob was named by Paul to handle his estate on Apr 1, 1786 in Tulpehocken Township, Berks Co, PA; he was also named as an heir, to participate in a private auction for Paul Lengel's 17 acre plantation and share in the proceeds.2,7,8
     Stephen and Jacob, as co-executors of their father's estate, filed a final accounting in Reading, PA, on Mar 22, 1797.9
     Stephen Lengel had 181 acres of land surveyed for a land patent on Apr 10, 1821 in Heidelberg, Lancaster Co, PA.10
     He made a will in Heidelberg Township, Berks Co, PA, on Jan 3, 1824. The will provides for Stephen's "beloved wife Susanna" and his ten children, John Adam, John, Philip, Mathias, George, David, Michael, John Jacob, Daniel and Elizabeth; it is signed with Stephen's mark and witnessed by John Kirst and Valentine Himmelberger..11
     Stephen Lengel died on Jan 3, 1824.1 He was buried at Christ Little Tulpehocken Church, Berks Co, in PA.3
     Stephen's will was presented for probate on Jan 3, 1825. His sons George and Matthias were named executors. Daniel petitioned the court to name his brother David as guardian on Nov 11, 1825 in Heidelberg Township, PA.12 The settlement of Stephen's estate was announced in Heidelberg Township, Berks Co, PA, in Mar, 1826. On May 7, 1863, Michael Lengel, acting as administrator for Matthias who was administrator for Stephen, filed an inventory and accounting for Stephen's estate.
