Andrew signed a lease for 4 months from April 1, 1908 through July 31, 1908 with E.P. Olssen, agt for the southwest quarter (I think) of section 14, township 15, range 1 of Saline, Co, KS. In consideration, he would pay the owner 1/3 of the hay in shock, 1/3 of the wheat, and 1/3 of the fruit. Andrew was to have all the alfalfa up to the expiration of the lease. The wheat was to be delivered from the thresher in Gypsum.47
Andrew paid taxes in Saline Co, KS, on Jan 9, 1909. The total county, township and school tax on $380 of personal property was $3. The receipt has a stamp that says "Barnes High School Tax paid under protest.".48
