CLARENCE HAYS
Clarence O. Hays of Red Bluff died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Cottonwood Care Center in Woodland. He was 92.
Born to Orice and Effie Hays on Dec. 1, 1908, in Smith Center, Kan., he was raised in Kansas, moved to Plumas County in the late 1940s and then to Red Bluff in 1990.
He was a heavy equipment operator in Plumas County and Nevada most of his life. He was also a member of the C.B. Radio Patrol, enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include: daughters Shirley Stevers, LaVonne Knutsen, Sharon Alexander, all of South Dakota, and Kaye Hall of Red Bluff; sons Dale Hays of Meadow Valley, Marlin Hays of South Dakota and Orin Hays of Red Bluff; brother Delbert Hays and sister Rosie and Pearl Hays, all of Kansas; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
His wife Dorothy died in 1997 and a son Roger in 1996.
A private graveside service will be held in Meadow Valley Cemetery in the family plot..
