LANGEL
Nelson E. Langel, age 74, of Reynoldsburg, formerly of Kirkersville, died Sunday at the residence. Born April 20, 1915 in Newark to the late Gus and Plina Morrow Langel. A retired farmer, Mr. Langel was the former owner of Scotch Haven Farms where he farmed throughout his lifetime. A 50 years member of the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame having shown his purebred Ayrshire cattle in fairs for 63 years. A member of the National Ayrshire Breeders Assoc. and the Ohio Ayrshire Breeders Assoc. which he served as president. A veteran member and past president of the Licking County Agrarian Club and a member of the Kirkersville United Methodist Church. Survived by wife, Helen (Bounds) Langel; son and daughter-in-law, William and Linda Langel, McFarland, Wi; daughter, Lynn Langel, BelAir, My [sic]; sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey and Ralph Herriott, Kirkersville and Irene and John Godfrey, Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Laurie, David and John Langel, McFarland, Wi.; nieces and nephews. Brother preceded him in death. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at EMERSON-NEWKIRK-WAREHIME FUNERAL HOME, Kirkersville, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednedsay [sic], Rev. Gary C. Hardy officiating. Interment in Kirkersville Cemetery. Family request contributions be made to the Hospice of Franklin County.
