BENJAMIN A. STRICKLER

The funeral for Benjamin A. Strickler, 88, 508 Fairdale Road, Salina, will be at 4 pm Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Norman Ullestad officiating.

Mr. Strickler was a long-time Salina jewelry store owner and had been president of the Kansas Jewelers association and potentate of the Isis Shrine.

Interment will be in Mausoleum Williamsburg at Roselawn cemetery.

Mr. Strickler was born July 3, 1879 at Sparta, Ill., and came to Saline with his parents. He was the owner of Strickler's jewelry store at 123 N. Santa Fe, for 35 years. He sold the store to Vernon Webster in 1944. He died Sunday at the Kenwood View nursing home.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church; was a senior past master of Salina Lodge No. 60 AF&AM; past potentate of the Isis Shrine; charter member of the Saline Lions club; past president of the Kansas Jewelers association; charter member of the Elks; and member of the Knight Commander Court of Honor; the Royal Order of Jesters, and Salina Consistory 32nd degree.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Everett Langel, 508 Fairdale Road and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur H. Adams, Long Beach, Calif., and Madeline Strickler, Los Angeles, Calif.

Friends may call at Guy R. Ryan Sons mortuary until 3 pm Tuesday. The casket will be closed at the church.
