Rappahannock County, Virginia
Will Book B-412

In the name of God, Amen: I, George James Green of the county of Rappahannock and State of Virginia being weak of body but of sound mind and disposing memory do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others:

Item 1st: It is my will and desire that my executor hereinafter named shall pay all my just debts and funeral expenses out of any portion of my estate they may think it necessary and best, for the interest of my wife and children, to be sold.

Item 2nd: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Frances after my just debts and funeral expenses are paid, all my estate both real and personal for and during her natural life.

Item 3rd: It is my will and desire that after the death of my wife, my estate shall be equally divided between my seven childred [sic], Hedgeman, Betsy, Sally, Aaron, Polly, George and Juliet Ann, and to account in the distribution for any advancements which may have be [sic] made to any of them. I consider my son James to have received more than what would be his portion of an estate in an equal distribution, I have therefore pretermitted [?] his name as above.

Lastly, I hereby contitute and my sons Aaron and George the executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this 15th day of July 1847

George James Green

In the presence of Jones Green, Joel Butler, William Williams Jr.
