Fayette Weaver's celebrated 50th Anniversary June 21
Mr. and Mrs. Fayette Weaver of Miami, Florida, formerly of Shlebina, observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary with a reception on June 21 at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. McLellan.
During World War I, Mr. Weaver was stationed at Camp Funston, Kansas, where the couple met. They were married June 20, 1920, in Chapmen [sic] Kansas, by Mrs. Weaver's brother, Rev. Ira De Witt, at the home of the bride's parents.
Mrs. Weaver was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska, and reared in Chapmen. Mr. Weaver was born and reared in Shelbina. He was employed for seeral years by the City Municipal Plant. Mr. and Mrs. Weaver lived in Shelbina for most of their married life until making their home in Miami approximately one year ago.
They are the parents of a daughter, Mrs. Gwenlyn W. McLellan, Miami, Florida; two sons, Captain Keith T. Weaver, USN, captain of the USS MISSISSINEWA, and Kenneth J. Waver, who passed away May, 1961. They have seven grandchildren, Patricia Ann, Joan, Keith II and Martha Weaver of Falls Church, Virginia, and Stephen, Pamela, and Julia Weaver, Denver, Colorado.
Out of town guests for the reception were Mrs. Keith T. Weaver, Falls Chuch, Virginia, Mrs. Florence Stites, Denver, Colorado, sister of Mrs. Weaver, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bates, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Mr. Bates is the nephew of Mr. Weaver.
