Pearl Hultman
Pearl M. Hultman, 83, died Thursday (Aug. 31, 2006) at Kansas Christian Home.
She was born Oct. 28, 1922, to Orace and Effie (DeWitt) Hays in Geary County. They preceded her in death. Dec. 23, 1947, she married Starr Hultman at McPherson. He preceded her in death May 25, 1995. She was a member of Golden Plains Free Methodist Rural Church of Newton. She was a homemaker and enjoyed upholstering furniture. She was a “Harvey Girl” at the Newton Station Harvey House.
She is survived by four sons, James Hultman of Burrton, Donald Hultman of Austin, Texas, John Hultman of Newton and Paul Hultman of Topkea; six daughters, Sheila Baughman of Newton, Teresa Hultman of Newton, Patricia Croft of Gilmer, Texas, Phyllis Arrellano of Newton, Thelma Reimer of Newton and Joyce Deeter of Wichita; and 18 grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by three sisters, Rosa Goodwin, Lila Jantz, Nela Seward and Verda Lady; and six brothers, Mervin Hays, Delbert Hays, Clem Hays, Lowell Hays, Vernon Hays and Clarence Hays.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Golden Plains Free Methodist Church with the pastor Carson Abrams officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery of Bentley.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established with Newton Meals on Wheels in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
