Funeral Services for W. Scott Moore

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Christian church for Winfield Scott Moore, 79, who passed away at the home of his son, Scott Moore, at Monroe, on Wednesday, May 15th. Services were held at the home of his son at 1:30 p.m. and at the church in Albion at 3:00.
Mr. Moore was born on Aug. 20, 1855, in Sox county, Wisconsin. In 1880 he came to Kansas with his family and on Aug. 20, 1881, he was united in marriage to Amanda Jane Laten, who preceded him in death. To this union seven children were born, on of whom, Sadie, died in infancy. He leaves to mourn his death, six children, Scott Edward, of Monroe, Leonard, of Council Bluffs, Claude, of Bozeman, Mont., Orice and Frank of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. D. L. Marshall of Hay Springs. One brother, Ed Moore of Athol, Kansas, and on sister, Mrs. Priscilla Monday [sic], of Sterling, Colo., also survive. Mr. Moore went to Genoa from Kansas in 1901, where he was engaged in commercial threshing and shelling. From there he moved to Albion in 1917 and in August, 1934, went to Monroe where he has since resided. He united with the U. B. church at Athol, Kan., when a young man.
