MRS. DIHLE DIES
Woman Known in Business Circles of City Falls to Survive Operation
Mrs. Ethel Dihle, 49, who for 28 years had lived in Salina and who was widely known because of being employed in business concerns, at the Stiefel store at the time of her death, passed away this morning at 11 oclock at Asbury hospital. Her home was at 152 South Tenth.
Mrs. Dihle underwent an operation a few days ago, but was not thought to be in a critical condition until complications developed, it was said today. She was the widow of George W. Dihle, who died March 22, 1925, and the mother of Robert H. Dihle, until recently a partner in the Old English Grill in this city, after being for years with the Planters bank. There is one daughter, Miss Evelyn Ethel Dihle, Hollywood, Calif., and a step-mother, Mrs. Lizzie Weir, Sringfield, Ark. A brother, Joseph McAllister, lives at Big Cabin, Okla., and there are three sisters. They are Mrs. George Maxon, Battle Creek, Mich.; Mrs. Minnie Coyle, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Cecil Teemster, Gentry, Okla.
Born August 27, 1886, in Arkansas, Mrs. Dihle was a member of St. John's Lutheran church. She belonged also to the Royal Neighbor lodge.
The body was taken to the Ryan-Sullivan Mortuary to lie in state until the time of the funeral, which is to be held Friday afternoon at 2 oclock at St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. B. R. Lantz in charge. Interment will be in Gypsum Hill cemetery.
