S. J. DeWitt Dead
Retired Farmer Here Since 1926, Funeral Saturday
Samuel Jackson DeWitt, 82, died Wednesday at the family residence, 534 South Tenth. A resident of Salina since 1926, he was born September 9, 1859 in Richardson county, Nebraska. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Ida May DeWitt and these sons and daughters: Mrs. W. M. Webster, Carneiro; Mrs. A. W. Sherman, 534 South Tenth; Clyde DeWitt, Wakeeney; Lyle DeWitt, Wilson; Mrs. Fayette Weaver, Shelbina, Mo.; Mrs. Florence Smith, Denver, Colo.; and Ira DeWitt, address unknown. Mrs. Harvey Caswell, Burchard, Neb., is a sister.
DeWitt was a member of the Nazarene church and before he retired had been a farmer. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Nazarene church, with Rev. George Lake and Rev. Cox officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
