A Water Pipe Broke

Officer Brady Discovered Damage and Saved Heavy Loss

A water pipe in the rear room of the upper story of the building occupied by George Dihle's harness shop, which had frozen, broke this morning about 3 o'clock, and when the damage was discovered a few minutes later by Officer C. G. Brody, the water was running down into the harness shop in a stream through the ceiling. Mr. Brody at once notified Mr. Dihle and the water was shut off.

About $25 damage was done to the building, but fortunately very little of Mr. Dihle's stock was dampened, and his damage will be less than $5. A heavy damage was saved to the stock by the discovery of the broken pipe in a short time after it ocurred. Mr. Dihle is saying a great many nice things about the night watchman today, and most deservedly, too.
