Sondra Margaret Hays And Benjamin C. Langel Wed
Double-ring marriage vows were recited by Sondra Margaret Hays, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mervin M. Hays, 1106 Highland, and Benjamin Charles Langel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett A. Langel, 508 Fairdale Road, June 21 at the First Covenant Church.
The Rev. Arne E. Mars officiated. Musicians were Mrs. Milton Thelander and Larry Hays, brother of the bride, both of Salina.
Guests were escorted by James P. Hays, Salina, another brother of the bride; Donald A. West, Kansas City, and Jon Clark Marshall, Lawrence.
The bride's floor-length gown of sheer organza over taffeta featured a fitted basque bodice, lace yoke enhanced with sequins, and long tapered sleeves.
The bouffant skirt, accented with half circle lace scroll adorned with lace-rolled roses, flowed into an aisle-wide train.
Her elbow-length veil of English silk illusion was caught to a petite lace pillbox edged with pearls and an organza rose etched with sequins.
White roses composed her cascade.
Honor attendants were Mrs. Gerard Zemler, Salina, sister of the bride, and John H. Wherry, Olathe.
The matron of honor wore a mint green frock of silk organza over taffeta, and a green organza rose with a short net veil. She carred white fuji mums.
Mrs. Donald Smith, Sunnyvale, Calif., the bride's cousin, was hostess for the reception in the church social rooms.
Assistants were Mrs. Douglas Bishop, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Larry Hays, the bride's sister-in-law, both of Salina; Janice Wise and George Ann Porter, both of Kansas City, Mo.; Janet Pavola, Independence, Mo.; Marilyn Hays, Kipp, cousin of the bride, and Jeffery and Joni Zemler, Salina, nephew and niece, respectively, of the bride.
