     Harriett, Mary, James and Ida was listed as a household member living with Mitchell E. Hays in the 1860 Census in Bellevue Township, Jackson Co, OH; Mitchel was a blacksmith. His real estate was valued at $75, his personal property at $110.8
     Harriett, Mary, James, Ida, Rachel, John and Mitchell was listed as a household member living with Mitchell E. Hays on the 1870 Census in Shellrock Township, Butler Co, IA.3
     They moved in Nov, 1877 to 1 mile southeast of town, Smith Centre, Smith Co, KS. (James Hays' obituary says move occurred in 1872. Mitchell's obituary says 1878. Belle's obituary says move occurred when she was 2, which would be in 10/87-10/88 range. Elmer's obituary says July 1877. Ida's obituary says November 23, 1877.)      Ida Jane Sigsbee and John Merritt Sigsbee appeared on the census of Jan 27, 1920 in Scandia, Republic Co, KS; they owned a farm, mortgaged, and Merritt was listed as a "dram" (very hard to read -- i expect it was supposed to be drayman.)19

     Ida died on Dec 29, 1934 in Scandia, Republic Co, KS, at age 74. Death was caused by pneumonia and heart trouble.2,6,7 Ida's funeral was held on Dec 30, 1934 in Scandia, Republic Co, KS; services were held from the family home and the United Brethren Church, with Rev. B. W. Selin of the Methodist church officiating.6 She was buried on Dec 30, 1934 at Riverview Cemetery, in Scandia, Republic Co, in KS.6,7
