     Charles D Watkins was employed as a physician.5
     Charles D Watkins died on Jun 27, 1942 in Mt. Carmel Hospital, Columbus, Franklin Co, OH; he died of blood poisoning. He bumped his shin on a box in his office, but continued to work until the injury forced him into the hospital two weeks before his death.6,5 An obituary was published on Jun 29, 1942 in the Newark Advocate in Newark, Licking Co, OH.6 In Feb, 1943 Charles Watkins left a life interest in property in Etna to his wife, then 1/4 interest to each child.7
     In 1953, the Etna-Kirkersville-Pataskala board of education named a new consolidated high school Watkins Memorial.8
