William Hays

b. circa 1820
FatherJames Hays1 b. circa 1799, d. Sep, 1879
MotherMary Kuhn1 b. circa 1800
William was born in PA circa 1820.1,2
He married Mary Ann (?) circa 1849. Mary Ann is listed in the 1850 census after William, before Jane. Although the ages are consistent with Mary Ann being a daughter, I think she is a daughter-in-law because 1) it seems odd that parents would have one daughter named Mary Ann and another named Maria, 2) it appears that Mary Ann has a mark in the "married within the year" column, and 3) William is a little old not to be married..1
