Alice Viola DeWitt
Alice Viola DeWitt, 89, Salina, died Tuesday, April 29, at the Salina Nursing Center.
Mrs. DeWitt was born May 16, 1896, in Carneiro. She was a retired egg handler at Swift & Co., Salina, and a member of the United Methodist Church. She moved to California, returning to Salina three years ago.
Survivors include a son, Ivan of Topeka; three daughters, Virginia Armstrong of 3488 Crystal Springs Road, Nona Jolley of 939 S. Third and Fern Surprise of Reno, Nev; a brother, Isaac Cook of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Rachel Ashley of Kingman, Ariz., and Betty Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated. A service will be held in the Mountain View Cemetery, Reno, Nev.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
