MRS. MERCER DIES
Funeral Services for Salina Woman Will Be Held Wednesday at 2:30 Oclock
Mrs. Amelia Alla Mercer, 59, wife of Clarence Mercer, died Monday afternoon at 5 oclock from complications following a long illness. Death occurred at the family home, 653 Highland avenue.
Tonight the body will lie in state at the Ryan Funeral Home, North Eighth street. By strange coincidence, the funeral home is on the identical lot where Mrs. Mercer was born, January 7, 1872, although the residence in which she was born was moved many years ago.
Mrs. Mercer, who has lived in Salina most of her life, is survived by her husband, one son, Edmund, of the home address, and four sisters: Mrs. Amanda Redford of Denver, Mrs. Josephine Hood of Chandler, Okla,; and Miss Ida Dihle and Mrs. Else Strickler, both of Salina.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home before being taken to the home Wednesday morning. A private service will be held at the home at 2 oclock after which a public service is to be held at the St. John's Lutheran church, of which the deceased was a member, at 2:30 oclock, with the Rev. B. R. Lantz in charge.
Interment will be in Gypsum Hill cemetery.
