The jury in the celebrated case of Stewart vs. Green, whereby the plaintiff sued defendant for $10,000 for alienating the affections of his wife, returned a verdict this morning. The verdict was for the plaintiff, and gave him damages in the sum of one cent. The case has occupied the attention of the Court for nearly two weeks, and has been hotly contested on both sides. Jones & Phillips were the attorneys for the plaintiff and Atherton and Kibler attorneys for the defendant.
