Carl E. Gunnerson
A life-long resident of Lindsborg, Carl E. Gunnerson, departed from this life on September 21, 1950, at the Halstead Hospital. He had been ill ten days.
"Cotton" was connected with many local firms during the forty-five years he worked as a meat-cutter. He was last employed by Eldon's Food Market. For many years he was active in the Masonic Order and Bethany Band. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran church. Born January 15, 1885, he was sixty-five years of age at the time of his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Gunnerson, three brothers, Elmer, Mark, and Lennard, two sisters Alfrida and Mabel.
Survivors are his wife, Evelyn, a stepson, William Harrison, and a sister, Bernice.
Services were held at the Messiah Lutheran church Sunday, September 24, at 2:30 p.m., the Danielson Funeral Home in charge, with the Reverend Robert Hurty, pastor of the church, officiating. Mrs. Wm. Boettcher sang, 'Nearer Still Nearer,' and 'there's a Land That is Fairer Than Day.' Ralph Harrel was the organist.
Casket bearers were: Elmer Larson, P.M. Traylor, Ralph Robinson, C.A. Berggren, Virgil Nordlund and LaVern Soderstrom. Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery.
