DAISY LEONE DEWITT

Daisy Leone Hunsinger was born near Windom, in McPherson county, Kansas on March 30, 1889, and died on November 1, 1945, at the age of 56 years, 7 months, and two days.

She was united in marriage to Clarence DeWitt on September 26, 1916 in Hutchinson, Kansas and came to Chapman as a bride, where she has resided the remainder of her life.

To this union was born three sons and one daughter: Eldon M., of the home, who just recently received his discharge from the army; Pvt. Albert N., of the armed forces; Pfc. Clarence E., who is with the armed forces in Japan; the daughter, Mrs. Leona Faye Fleagle, Chapman. There are also four grandchildren.

Other relatives, who mourn her loss are her mother, Mrs. Sophia Hunsinger, Marquette; four brothers, Charles, George, and Fritz of Marquette; Albert of Idana, pastor of the Wesleyan church; six sisters, Mrs. Sophia Nelson, Delta, Colo; Mrs. Amy Burkstrandt, Oswatomie, Mrs. Carrie Griswald, Marquette; Miss Lena Hunsinger, Marquette; Mrs. Lottie Hays, Wichita; Miss Alma Hunsigner [sic], Marquette.

She was a devoted worker of the Federated church and when health permitted was found regularly in her place of worship. She was also an active members of the women's organizations.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home and at 2:30 from the Federtaed[sic] church with the Rev. C. D. Gambriell in charge, Mrs. Lawrence Wilson and Mrs. Myrtle Blackwelder, accompanied by Miss Mildred Ramsey, sang three hymns. Interments was made in the Indian Hill cemetery.

Pallbearers were Purlay Freeman, E. R. Rogers, Joe Frazier, Cap Schlappy, Wm. Thomas, and Glenn Miller.
