Nelda M. 'Nell' Seward
Nelda M. 'Nell' Seward, 72, died Aug. 28, 2002, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born at Salina, the daughter of Orice Lee and Effie Viola DeWitt Hays. A graduate of Salina High School, she was a homemaker most of her life, and worked for Sister's Upholstery in Newton for several years. She was a resident of Hutchinson since 1981, moving from Newton.
On Dec. 18, 1968, she married Elmer Seward at Newton. He survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Ronald Steven Parker, Hutchinson, and Marion Allen Bryan, Greenriver Wyo.; two stepsons, David, Olathe, and John Ena, Hutchinson; a daughter, Sharon Louise Higgins, Hillsboro; a stepdaughter, Mary Anne Seward, Los Angeles; a brother, Delbert, Wichita; two sisters, Rosa Goodwin, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Pearl Hultman, Newton; four grandchildren, Terry Lynn Shelton, Eldon Mo., Lutisha Parker and Nikki La Gree, both of Hutchinson, Devlyn D. Bryan, and Byranna Bryan, both of Greenriver, Wyo., and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers; Clarence, Lowell, Mervin, Bill, and Jim; two sisters, Verda Hayes, and Lila Jantz; and two siblings who died in infancy.
Funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory with Wayne Pittman presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
