Obituary
Elmira F. Green was born at Culpper[sic], Virginia, July 11, 1825, and died Dec. 23, 1905, aged 80 years, 5 months and 12 days.
She was married to George W. Taylor Dec. 8, 1842. To this union three children were born, namely: Sarah Catherine, James Williams and George Zachary.
Fifty-six years ago death called her husband at Waterloo, Va. About fifteen years later, she and her three children and son-in-law, George Green, came to Ohio, taking up their home in Cherry Valley, near Newark. About five years later they came to York street, where she resided until her death.
She is survived by three sisters and four brothers, three children, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss of a loved one. She bore her affliction with christian fortitude and waited patiently for the summons from on high.
The departed united with the M. E. church at Amosville, Va., at the age of 14; later uniting with the M. E. church at Newark, where she held her membership till death. She manifested a willingness to go and meet her loved ones who have gone before.
