Sliightly Burned in Gas Blast

Carl Youngberg, 1322 N. 3rd, suffered slight chest burns in a small explosion at the Beverly Wholesale Meat and Packer Plant, 613 E. Pacific, Thursday morning.

According to firemen, escaping gas from a pipeline was ignited when a workman lit a cigaret.

There was a flash explosion but no fire followed.

The incident occurred while workmen were putting in a gas line in the compressor room.

There was no damage.

Firemen were called in to stand by until the leak was repaired.

Youngberg is an employe [sic] of City Plumbing Co.
