Mrs. Leslie E. Lady
The funeral for Mrs. Verda Viola Lady, 65, 239 N. West Place, will be at 2 pm Saturday at the Ryan mortuary, the Rev. Bob Aills officiating.
Mrs. Lady died Wednesday at St. John's hospital. She was born March 9, 1911, at Geneseo and spent most of her live [sic] in Salina. She also spent 9 years in California. She retired in 1963 from the Model Laundry. She was a member of the REAC, Eagles auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary.
Surviving are the widower, Leslie E.; 3 daughters, Mrs. Dolores Kommer, Acton, Calif.; Mrs. Barbara Brackett, Houston, Tex., and Mrs. LaDonna Ellyson, 749 Hancock; 5 brothers, Vernon Hays, 1316 Gypsum; C. J. Hays, 761 S. 5th; Clarence Hays, Meadow Valley, Calif.; Lowell Hays, Richmond, Calif., and Delbert Hays, Newton; 4 sisters, Mrs. Lila Jantz, Mrs. Pearl Hultman, Mrs. Rosa Goodwin, and Mrs. Melda [sic] Seward, all of Newton; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery, Enterprise. Friends may call at the mortuary.
