Mrs. O. L. Hays Dies
Funeral of Salina Woman Held Tuesday
Mrs. Effie Viola Hays, 47, died at her home, 401 East Republic avenue, Sunday of uremia. She had lived seven years in this city and was the wife of Orice Lee Hays. Her mother, Mrs. Flora DeWitt, lives at Chapman. Sons and daughters of the family are Clarence Hays, South Dakota; Verda Lowell, Salina; Mervin, Vernon and Clein James, Salina; Lila Belle, Pear, Rosa Lee, Delbert and Nelda Maxine, of Hays. A brother, John DeWitt, lives in Salina. There are two older brothers, Clarence Dewitt, Chapman, and Ralph DeWitt, Ogdon.
Mrs. Hays was born April 9, 1888 at Dubois, Neb. Her body was taken to the Ryan-Sullivan Mortuary to remain until the funeral which is to be held there at 12:45 oclock Tuesday afternoon and at the Methodist church in Chapman at 2:30 oclock, Rev. L. F. Arend, minister of the University Methodist church in Salina, in charge. Interment will be in Indian Hill cemetery in Chapman.
